Saturday, August 13th at Larkin Square
On August 12, we crossed back over the border arriving at Buffalo, NY. The following day, August 13, we celebrated our journey at Larkin Square-Boardwalk in downtown Buffalo with about 40 people. Thank you so much to Ben and Nancy Rand for putting together such an amazing event and another huge thank you to Kaleida for sponsoring this event and bringing in Dr. Jason Davies to speak! Some of our allies at this event included Buffalo State’s Hope and Stroke Aphasia Support Group, the American Stroke Association, and Headway of Western NY. In addition to our riders and Dr. Jason Davies, Brian Patterson, a stroke survivor, also spoke. Prior to his stroke, he was very familiar with public speaking. In the aftermath of his stroke, he has not engaged much with public speaking… until today! At our event, this was the first time he spoke in front of a large group in five years! We thank him so much for bringing energy and passion to our event and our mission.
